Where to find community connections

  • Bi+ Community of Melbourne Facebook Page is a safe space for people in Melbourne who identify as Bisexual, Pansexual, Polysexual, or any other form of multi-gender attraction under the Bi+ umbrella, to connect, build community, find new friends and support, and to socialise. Community events are often shared there. Administrators aim to keep it a safer place, and it is not a dating or hookup group. This is a private group, so friends and family will not be able to tell that you’ve joined if you haven’t come out yet.

    Sydney Bi+ Network (Facebook Page) is a volunteer-run, grassroots organisation dedicated to improving the well-being of bi+ folks across the Sydney area through community building, education, and advocacy. Sydney Bisexual+ Community (Facebook Group) is a place for bisexual+ people to connect, share, support each other and importantly help develop the community of bisexual+ people in Sydney.

    Bisexual+ Community Perth (Facebook Group) aims to be a safe place for people of all genders who are not gay or straight to engage in respectful discussion, connect with people, and form community.

    Brisbane Bi+ Network (Facebook Page) is an organisation seeking to build community connections for bi+ people, as well as provide education and advocacy within Brisbane with the aim of improving the lives in this community. Brisbane Bisexual Community (Facebook Group) is a community building group based in Brisbane for those who identify as Bisexual. They aim to offer support and a sense of belonging to individuals who are interested in connecting in a safe online space.

    Bi+ SA (Facebook Group) is a connection hub for bi+ individuals & allies with groups & event organisers. They are interested in connecting, supporting and helping to facilitate safe spaces and visibility for bi+ folx in Adelaide and across SA.

    Bi Tasmania (Facebook Page) is an organisation for bisexual Tasmanians.

    Married Bi + Discussion Group – this Facebook group is for anyone who is bi+ (bisexual, pansexual, fluid, polysexual, omnisexual, or otherwise non-monosexual) and either married or in a long term relationship. Topics include coming out, biphobia, bi visibility and positivity, and more. Monogamous bis and polyamorous bis are all welcome here!

  • MelbBiPanPlus Discord Server - This is run by the Bi+ Community of Melbourne Facebook group moderators, and runs online game nights as well as having a bunch of general interest channels and the general chat functionality. The moderation team includes gender diverse bi+ people, and there are many gender diverse bi+ people engaging on there, so there are good opportunities for peer support.

  • Bi Alliance Victoria holds monthly discussion groups for Bi+ community members. These groups are peer support sessions where you may meet other people with similar experiences to yours. They also welcome family members and friends.

  • Another way to find bi+ social events is via Eventbrite.

    RMIT Diversity & Inclusion - we've run a bunch of collaboration events which are hosted by RMIT, ranging from discussion panels to trivia nights, definitely worth a follow!

    Bi Alliance Victoria - BAV run a variety of events.

    Minus18 provides events for 13 – 19 year olds (inclusive), LGBTQIA+ inclusion training for schools and workplaces, and their website has some great articles about LGBTQIA+ identities and supporting queer young people.
